Once again Bangla has been crowned the champion. The Skoch Group has awarded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee the prize for being the best chief minister. The Skoch Chief Minister of the Year award has been given on the basis of five parameters – governance, culture, finance, urban development and rural development.
This was tweeted out by the organisation, congratulating Mamata Banerjee at the same time.
The projects, Gatidhara and Pathadisha have also been adjudged the best in the country in their respective categories.
Commenting on the prize, the additional chief secretary of the Transport Department, Alapan Bandyopadhyay said, “Gatidhara has won a gold medal at the national level. This is possibly the only project to win a gold medal in the transport category.”
The Gatidhara Scheme started in 2014. A target was set for making 10,000 unemployed youths in the state self-employed. They are getting bank loans too. That target has been overtaken comfortably. Till now, 10,550 youths between the ages of 22 and 45 have become self-sufficient by becoming beneficiaries of this scheme.
is a mobile app. This WBTC app lets people know the routes, positions, number of seats and even the fact of whether a bus is crowded or not. Right from the time it was launched, the app has been very popular with the general public.
There is no doubt in anyone’s mind about the administrative skills of Mamata Banerjee. Her pet project, the Kanyashree Scheme, has been awarded as the world’s best by the United Nations. In 100 Days’ Work, in terms of the number of man-days created and the amount spent in paying people for their work, Bangla has snatched the number one position, as judged by the Union government.
In building rural road network and houses, and in giving scholarships to minority-community students and loans to minorities too, Bengal is ahead. In agriculture sector, the Mamata Banerjee-headed Trinamool Congress government has won five consecutive Krishi Karman awards.
For rural electrification, the IPPAI Award too has been bagged by Bengal. In the labour sector, the State has won the Skoch Smart Governance Award. At the Republic Day parade ceremonies, Bengal’s ‘Chhau Dance’ and ‘Banglar Baul’ tableaus have won first prizes in separate years.
Thus, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, Bengal has proved its mettle in the fields of education, health, agriculture, industry, transport and culture. Naturally, as the administrator, the crown has been laid on the head of Mamata Banerjee.
It may be mentioned that one of the fields in which Skoch Foundation works is popularising various social-economic and social development schemes of the country. It is this foundation that has judged the chief minister of Bengal as India’s best chief minister.
