His father Mukul Roy is dead against TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. But Subhrangshu Roy, the son of this erstwhile TMC leader and the minister has come out in support of Abhishek.
Amit Shah had made objectionable remarks against Abhishek in a political rally at Kolkata on August 11. Abhishek Banerjee had already filed a criminal defamation case against Shah for his slanderous remarks immediately after the rally.
The TMC MP Subhrangshu did not just support Abhishek, he also went ahead and wrote a letter to express his full support to Abhishek, and his allegiance to the party. He has also called BJP leader Amit Shah a ‘compulsive liar’ in his message.
“I was quite surprised by what Amit Shah had said in the Mayo Road rally in August. He had claimed that Abhishek has misused the state development fund of Rs 3.59 lakh crores allocated by the centre,” wrote he in the letter. “The allegation against Abhishek is completely false and I just cannot keep quiet after hearing these lies. Hence I chose to write this letter,” said he.
Now, the letter written by Subhrangshu may help Abhishek gain an edge in this case, feel political observers.
