Actor Vikram Chatterjee did not get relief from the High Court in the Sonika Chauhan death case. Last year a case of unintentional murder was registered against Vikram. He appealed to the Alipore Court to get himself relieved from that case. But the court denied his appeal. After that he approached the Kolkata High Court challenging the lower court’s ruling. A hearing of the same was conducted in the court of Justice Shivkant Prasad. The learned Justice observed that since the case was being heard in the lower court High Court will not intervene in it.
It may be mentioned that Vikram and Sonika was returning after partying the whole night of 29th April, 2017.
Investigations reveled that Vikram was driving his Toyota Altis car at a speed exceeding 100km/hr towards Rashbehari Avenue crossing from Gariahat crossing. Suddenly he lost control and the car hit the divider. Sonika was sitting in front and lost her life in that accident. After that a charge sheet was framed under Section 304 of the IPC. Other than this another case of drunk driving was registered against him.
